ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF AISI304 STAINLESS STEEL IN 3.5% NaCl SOLUTION AND ITS PROTECTIION BY ORGANIC SILICION PAINT
|
Abstract:
The electrochemical behavior of AISI304 stainless steel without and with organic silicon paint in 3.5%NaCl solution were studied by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).The experimental results showed that the EIS consisted of only a single capacitance arc during immersion for naked AISI304 stainless steel. The corrosion resistance increased during initial stage of immersion and then decreased greatly after immersion for 1201d.The EIS changed to some extent when the steel was coated with organic silicon paint.EIS consisted of only single capacitance arc during initial immersion stage, showing a high corrosion resistance. The EIS consisted of two capacitance arcs when the coated sample was immersed for more than 1 d,on the contrary, the EIS consisted of single capacitance arc all the time for the naked steel.
