ANALYSIS OF CORROSION FAILURE OF IMPELLER USED IN WATER RING VACUUM PUMP

Abstract:
A corroded impeller of water ring vacuum pump was examined with the electronic microprobe and metallography.The relevant water sample was also analijed.The mechanism of corrosion failure was discussed in terms of CO 2 induce corrosion and pitting corrosion due to Cl -.Finally some suggests was postulated as precautionary measures for preveting such failure.
