FAILURE ANALYSIS OF UNEXPECTED CORROSION ON CARBON STEEL FRAME OF CONTICASTER
连铸机扇形段框架和立柱腐蚀失效分析

The failure of carbon steel frame of a conticaster in a steel work was investigated.Results showed that in the special environment of the conticaster,the cause of the unexpected failure should be the rapid development of the crevice corrosion which is badly influenced by the high concentration of Cl -.The quality of the protective coating for the frame should be improved to prevent the failure.
