The factors on the failure of reinforced concrete under corrosive environment are analyzed.The mechanisms of the structural damage of concrete and the failure of rebar are discussed.The detective techniques of the structural damage and the failure are also described.At the same time,the methods on how to enhance the durability of the reinforced concrete are studied.The principal direction of research on the reinforced concrete is introduced at the end of the paper.
