ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF X70 PIPELINE STEEL IN CARBONATE-BICARBONATE SOLUTION

Abstract:
Potentiodynamic polarization measurement was used to study corrosion behavior of X70 pipeline steel in carbonate-bicarbonate solution.The effect of concentration of HCO 3 - to anodic polarization behavior was determined by anodic polarization curves.With the results obtained by the fast and slow scanning rate curves, boundary conditions which was promoted by Parkins and Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) parameter Pi were used to forecast potential range of susceptibility to SCC of X70 pipeline steel in 1mol/L NaHCO 3+0 5 mol/L Na 2CO 3 solution.The results were in accordance with each other.
