INFLUENCE OF ADDITIVES ON ELECTROLESS NICKEL DEPOSITION PROCESS

Abstract:
Electrochemical measurements including cyclic voltammetric and anodic, cathodic polarization techniques have been carried out to investigate the deposition process of electroless nickel and the influence of accelerator. The results indicated that electroless Ni\|P was obtained by the inducted codeposition, and there existed important interactions between two partial reactions (the reduction of Ni 2+ and the oxidation of H 2PO - 2). Accelerator A enhanced the deposition rate through its promoting the oxidation of H 2PO - 2 and decreasing the activation energy for deposition.
