ELECTROCHEMICAL STUDY ON METASTABLE PITTING OF METALS AND ALLOYS
|
Abstract:
A great amount of research work about seawater corrosion of CuNi alloy, including the effects of environment factors, material microstructure and surface condition on corrosion bevavior has been reviewed. The accelerated corrosion due to the depects of residual carbon film on the surface and precipitates at grain boundaries were detected and analyzed by suing OM, AES, SEM and TEM. The relationship between the stability of corrosion product film and the precipitates of new phase at grain boundaries due to spinodal decomposition as well as the mechanism of intergranular corrosion and intergranular brittle cracking of the alloy after tensile measurement are also discussed.
