A CORROSION CASE ANALYSIS OF WATER SEALED GAS TANK AND FEASIBILITY OF USING INHIBITORS
|
Abstract:
The corrosion case analysis of a water sealed gas tank was performed through the weight loss test and potentiodynamic polarization measurement. The results indicate that the corrosion of outer surface of the gas tank is caused mainly by dissolved oxygen, while inner surface of the tank is corroded not only by dissolved oxygen but also by CO 2 and H 2S. The feasibility of using inhibitors is also studied.
