PRELIMINARY STUDIES ON REMOVING DISSOLVED OXYGEN FROM TAP WATER WITH ELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD
|
Abstract:
A new electrochemical method of dissolved oxygen removal has been developed by w hich tap water flows through a cell of three-dimensional electrode, the cathode of which is made of 001x7H-type ion-exchange resins mixed with spray copper- sand by differen t volume ratio to act as oxygen remover from the tap water. The results show that when the ratio of the ion-exchange resin to the spray copper-scond is 1 to 1,the oxygen removal efficiency is the best;In the resins containing diffe rent counter ions,H-type resins shows the best effectiveness, and it is also fo und that the optimal cell voltage of electrochemical de -oxygenation is 2 1 V,outlet oxygen content is 0 04 mg/L.When the cell voltage is 2 1 V,the outl et oxygen content is lower than 0 10 mg/L for the flow high up to 7 L/h.
