FAILURE ANALYSIS OF A STAINLESS STEEL HEAT EXCHANGER

An analysis of the cause of pitting corrosion failure of heat exchange coil is made by means of X-ray energy spectrometer in this paper.The result shows that intergrainular corrosion,chlorine induced corrosion and temperature differential corrosion are the main causes of heat exchanger.Besides,some measures for corrosion prevention are postulated.
