ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION OF CARBON STEELSPRETREATED BY DIFFERENT POLLUTANTS
|
Abstract:
The atmospheric corrosion data measured at Beijing and Jiangjin exposure sites of three carbon steels are analyzed. The corrosion depth is calculated. It is concluded that the corrosion rates of carbon steels at Jiangjin site are much greater than that at Beijing site for the same exposure period. The effect of different pretreatments on the atmospheric corrosion of carbon steels is comparatively examined. The results show that the pretreatments have made some differences to the three carbon steels, but the differences are small.Among the pretreatments, the effect of NO 2 is the most obvious; With any of the pretreatments, the corrosion of the three carbon steels gradually decreases with the increase of exposure time by the exposure test at the two sites.
