The designing ideas, the structure and the function for a corrosion database system for natural environmental corrosion have been introduced. In this database system, 5 000 000 of corrosion data from various regions all over the country are collected, arranged and stored, including 6 general classes of materials, i.e., ferrous metals, non ferrous metals, synthetic materials, protective coatings, concretes, electric cables and optical cables etc. as well as related materials. The system provides the functions of the data management, the data consultation and retrieval, the data processing, the database safeguarding, the data reporting and printing etc.
