SUMMARY ON ANTI-CORROSION METHODS FOR SEAWATER COOLING EQUIPMENTS OF SHIPS

A corrosion survey of seawater cooling equipments of ships were made.Some anti-corrosion technologies applied to seawater cooling equipments were presented.Some practical anti-corrosion design methods were also discussed,including material selection,galvanic couple corrosion control,non-metallic protective coating,sacrificial anode and impressed current cathodic protection.It was proved in practice that the corrosion problems of seawater cooling equipments will be well controlled by using the above-mentioned anti-corrosion technologies.
