THE EFFECT OF ION PLATED TiN COATING ONCREVICE CORROSION OF STAINLESS STEEL IN SEA WATER
离子镀TiN膜对不锈钢在海水中缝隙腐蚀行为的影响

TiN films were deposited on to SUS304 stainless steel by an ion plating process using hollow cathode discharge (HCD). The crevice corroison resiseance of the TiN coated steel insea water was studied by the electrochemical method. The results indicated that the repassivationpotential for creviced corroison (ER) become more noble. The corrosion resistance of the specimens coated with TiN is improved. It may mainly be related with the chemical effect of ion plated.
