ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF 16MnR PIPELINE STEEL IN SOLUTION OF 0.1N Na2CO3 + 0.01N NaHCO3

Abstract:
This paper mainly studied the electrochemical behavior of 16MnR pipeline steel in a solution of 0.01N Na 2CO 3+0.01N NaHCO 3 with near neutral pH.It was indicated that there were three corrosion potentials when scanning rate were 2 mV/s and 0.5 mV/s respectively for 16MnR in the solution of 0.01N Na 2CO 3+0.01N NaHCO 3.Among them one was in the active range,the second was in the passive range,and the third lays the active-passive range.Conclusively,16MnR was unstable in 0.01N Na 2CO 3+0.01N NaHCO 3.Moreover,the Metallograph showed that the microstructure of the steel was ferrite colony and pearlier colony alternately.
