THE TEST OF ELECTROCHEMICAL IMPEDANCE FOR ALKYD COATING WITH ION-EXCHANGED SILICA

Abstract:
The different formulations of calcium exchanged silica (Ca/SiO,) or rare earth exchanged silica (RE/Si02) in alkyd resins were examined by AC impedance spectroscopy. The quality of paint protecting substrate from corrosion was evaluated in terms of corrosion voltage, capacitance and paint resistance.
