PERFORMANCE OF PASSIVATION FILMS ON STAINLESS STEELS DURING CORROSIVE WEAR PROCESS
|
Abstract:
The damage and recovery processes of three type stainless steels were investigated using a scratching electrode technique in dilute H 2SO 4 solution with and without Cl - under different loads. The material loss of the stainless steels was measured. The results showed that the scratching resistance of passivation films on the stainless steels was related to the slopes of the curves of scratching current vs. time, and that the recovery performance of passivation films were dependent on the applied loads and also the composition of alloys.
