EFFECTS OF SRB ON CORROSION OF CARBON STEEL IN SEAMUD
|
Abstract:
The effect of Sulfate Reducing Bacterial (SRB) on corrosion of carbon steel in seamud, and macrocell corrosion induced by seamuds with SRB and without SRB of carbon steel have been studied by using bacterial analyses, weight loss,Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy,Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and EDXA.The corrosion rate of carbon steel in seamud with SRB was 3.5 times of those in seamud without SRB.Within a marocell consisted with seamud with and without SRB,the part of carbon steel immersed in seamud with SRB plays as anode, thus exhibits corrosion rate higher than that of free corrosion immersed in the same mud.
