APPLICATION OF A LOW POLARIZATION CURVE FITTING TECHNIQUE TO THE STUDY OF SOIL CORROSION
|
Abstract:
A low polarization curve fitting technique was used to process polarization data in low polarization region for soil corrosion systems. Polarization measurements were carried out in a cell with back inserted reference electrode. Based on the curve fitting, corrosion rate can be approximately estimated and different corrosion mechanisms of the system distinquished. It was found that the corrosion process of carbon steel in Shenyang soil was controlled by oxygen diffusion, and the diffusion rate varied with moisture content in the soil.
