MANAGEMENT AND APPLICATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE INFORMATION

Abstract:
There are many information that can be used to reconstruct the geographicalenvironmental changes. The first are the data measured by modem equipments, forexample, records of weather and climatic measuremenL hydrology measurement,remote sensing measurement for the earth and scientific field investigation. The secondare historical records and archaeological materials, such as chorography, chronicle,ancient travel notes, and cultural relic comeing up out of land, etc. The final data arethe proxy records of environmental changes. They are obtained from some naturalmaterial that formed in the past time, and then keep the environmental conditioninformation that time in it, such as sediments, tree ring and ice core, etc. All therecords mentioned above are important for the research of environmental changes.They can be checked each other, and then we can get reliable information about theglobal environmental changes. The information of environmental changes has three attributcs, i. e. time, spaceand character. The time attribute includes two aspects. The first one is the timeresolution of the records, and the second one is the scope what the record could cover.The management of the information aims at the synthesis or integrahon. Based onanalysis for the informahon which have different hme resolution, cover different timescope and come from different sources, we can exchange the time scale, then studythe rules of environmental change in different time scale. The space attribute is thatevery information of environmental change comes from a location on the earth surface.Comparison of different information from place to place, analysis of the scope ofsome environmental changes, and search of the boundary of envirorimental changeshave very important significance for us to understand the processes of the earth system.The character attribute is that the data for environmental reconstruction come fromdifferent sources and carried materials. So they must be checked each other.Calibration, verification and validation are necessary, then the reliable information isavailable.There are mainly three types of data about environmental change information, i.e.stahstic data, remote sensing data and map data. The foundation of the managementsystem of environmental change could help us to integrate all the information. Basedon stahstic analysis, space analysis and modeling simulation, new idea what could notbe obtained from single informahon is available by synthesis.Finally, two examples are given to show how to establish the database, managethe data what have different time, space and character attributes, deal with these data,and study the environmental changes and natural disasters by synthesis.
