CORROSION OF STAINLESS STEELS IN SOILS
|
Abstract:
Corrosion behavior of 1Cr13 and 1Cr18Ni9Ti in soils were studied. The results showed that corrosion of stainless steels was mainly due to the contents of Cl - and SO 2- 4 in soils, and there was a good correlation between the weight loss of corrosion and the contents of Cl - and SO 2- 4 in soils. The pH of soils and corrosion potential were other important factors determining the corrosion rate of the stainless steels in soils. Some severe pitings of 1Cr13 were observed in alkaline soils.
