There are many ways, such as afforestation, energy saving, improving agricultural management and levying a tax etc., in order either to reduce carbon emission or to increase carbon sink. The effectiveness and thriftiness are two main factors that should be taken into consideration when certain measurements were selected. By comparative study on several different ways, our conclusion is that tree planting, energy saving and improving agricultural management are the ways with large benefit and less lost. As for levying a tax on carbon emission it seems less effective and may cause some unexpected problems for developing countries like China.
