USING REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUE TO STUDY THE DESERTIFICATION IN THE WEST OF NORTHEAST CHINA
中国东北西部地区荒漠化发展前沿区域的遥感研究

Based on Landsat TM data of July-September, 1996 and August-October, 1988, the change of salinization of Qian′an County and desertification of Lishu County in the west of Northeast China and land-use status between Wuerjimulun river and Xinkai river are studied. The result indicates that the ecological environment in those three regions in 1996 was worse than in 1988, the main character is that salinization and desertification land expanded eastwards. The west of Northeast China should be as an important region for combating desertification and environmental protection.$$$$
