先秦时期我国北方长期生活着一些与华夏民族相异的人类群体 ,一般称为戎狄 ,他们与游牧的匈奴不同。戎狄的社会经济是农牧混合经济。在中国历史上 ,戎狄对发展北方的畜牧业做出过贡献。汉族农业地带、戎狄混合经济地带、匈奴草原游牧经济地带形成古代中国北方的三元人文地理结构
