Research on computation method of multi-station diurnal variation correction in marine magnetic surveys

Abstract:
The computation method of multi-station geomagnetic diurnal variation correction have been studied. The applicability of the weighted mean value method and function fitting method have been analyzed by the synchronously observed data. The method which are fit for the characteristics of marine magnetic survey has been brought forward. The conclusion show that both two method are effective in multi-station geomagnetic diurnal variation correction. With the neglect of longitudinal effect, the precision of both method can be greatly improved. Considered the graphic structures of the base stations in marine magnetic surveys, the weighted mean value with latitudinal distance are advised to computation of correction value.
