AN OBSERVATION ON RODENT ACTIVITIES RELATING TO LOESS EROSION
|
Abstract:
This paper contributes a quantitative record obtained from an observatioa of the burrowing habit of Suslik (Citellus dauricus) as an example to show the relationship between loess erosion and rodent excavation. The test by means of regression and correlation indicates that the high population density of Suslik of the species causing a strong burrowing activities accelerates the loess collapss during the gully erosion processes.
