3_D parallel prestack depth migration of synthetic source records

Abstract:
An improved wave equation 3-D prestack depth migration method is presented in this paper. The shot sources and source records can be synthesized by using three properties of the wave equation operator without any physical assumption. In terms of three synthetic formulae we unify the area shot record synthetic method and phase encoding synthetic method under one theoretical framework. The 5-D data sets of 3-D prestack are converted into 3-D data sets by double synthesizing in the migration method, which retain accuracy of shot profile migration and overcome drawback of high computational costs. The method is flexible and selectable by designing different synthetic operators for different input data sets. The realization of parallel programming with MPI speeds up computation. The tests of the 3-D SEG/EAGE salt C3-NA data set and the seismic data on rugged ground in Xinjiang set show that the method is efficient and practical.
