AN INITIAL REPORT OF THE DETERMINATION OF AMINOACID CONTENT ON COPTOTERMES FOXMOSANUS SHIRAKI AND ITS CHANGES IN THE INCIPIENT COLONY FORMATION
|
Abstract:
The determination of the change of Amino-acid content on the paired termites Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki in the incipient colony formation. In the determination, we have discovered that the Amino-acid content of females is higher than those of males. The females is 52.63 per cent and later is only 41.07 percent, the change of Amino-acid content has a close relation with their oviposition, larve feeding and mating. The Amino-acid content desends suddenly during the period of oviposition peak, larve feeding and mating. The Amino-acid content of females descends from 52.63 percent at just pairing to 35.51 percent and this of males is from 40.45, 41.07 percent at the presence of young larves and 41.07 percent at just pairing to 23.35, 35.85 percent respectively, but in the intermittent period of oviposition, theAminoacid content has gone up oviposition again, from 48.64 to 49.83 percent, at the same time, it is discovered that the body weight of them has no relation with the change of Amino-acid content. After pairing, the dry weight of females descends gradually in the days of experiment from 117 to 187, but in the later period, it has gone up slowly, from 84.9 to 23.8 and from 23.8 to 34.3 mg, but the change of Amino-acid is 52.63, 49.83 and 43.78 percent, which are not direct ratio.
