|
Abstract:
In the present paper, the routine studing method of insect soatial distribution and many indices of aggregation were reviewed and compared with their application in the study of the spatial patterns of the larvae of the ghost moths, which are the host insects of Chinese insect herb, the famous and precious Chinese medicine or traditional drug, distributed on the snow mountain in Yunnan province. It shows that all sets of the samples fit the negative binomial distribution. All indices indicate that the distribution of the larvae are of an aggregated pattern. Iwao's method shows that the larvae occur as colonies and the distribution of the colonies is aggregated.
