A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE KARYOTYPE OF BUFO VIRIDIS LAURENTI IN XINJIANG
新疆绿蟾蜍的染色体组型初步研究

The karyotype of the green toad in Xinjiang is studied from metaphase plates of bone marrow cells prepared by the colchicine-hypotonic-air drying method.The materials arc collected from Wulumuqi, Hetian, Wusu and Hami. The diploid chromosome number is 2n = 44 and only one pair of satellite is found, which lies in the end of the 12th chromosome. The karyotype of 2n = 22 hsan't been found in these materials. This green toad maybe a polyploid.
