THE COMMUNITY OF INTESTINAL FLAGELLATES AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE IN THE CLASSIFICATION OF THEIR HOST TERMITES
|
Abstract:
It is reported in this article that seventeen species of flagellates have been recorded in the intestines of five termites species which are most common in chines cities. It is proved that the flagellate community of each termite species is characteristic and stable. The constituent ratio of the community in each termite species is basically stable, wherever it is collected from different cities. The communities in different species which all belong to one termite genus are however not the same completely. The flagellate communities in different termite genura are different absolutely. According to above resultes, we believer that the research of flagellate community will be promote the classification of termites.
