MORPHOLOGICAL AND STEREOLOGICAL STUDIES OFTHE LANGERHANS ISLET CELLS INTHE TOAD PANCREAS
蟾蜍胰腺内分泌细胞的形态学和体视学研究

The distribution and morphology of the A, B and D cells in toad pancreas were observed with immunohischemistry (PAP method, PAP-protein A gold-silver double staining) and electron microscopy. By PA-gold (PAG) method, the precise intracellular localization of insulin has been observed. The stereo-logical algorithms for the conversion of the profile-size frequency distribution observed in histological section to the sphere-size frequency distribution in three-dimension space have been developed to a computer program and were applied to A, B cells in the pancreas.
