THE EFFECT OF CECROPINS D FROM ANTHERAEA PERNYI ON SUSPENSIONS OF E.COLIK_12D_31
|
Abstract:
The kinetics of the bacteriolytic effect on E.coli K12 D31 were studied at different concentrations of cecropin D from Antheraea pernyi. The effect of 5 ?g per ml cecropin D on Suspensions of E. Coli K12D31 (107 cells/ml) in LEG medium was noticeable. In that medium, When the concentration of cecropin D reached 10?g per ml, the bactericibal velocity was higher than proliferation of bacterial cells As cecropin D was added to the suspension until its concentration reached 10?g per ml and with 107 cells/ml of E.coli K12D31,the number of surviving bacteria was counted by spreading on agar plates. It was found that after 4 has of incnhation in 0.1 M potasstum phosphate buffer these were no surivals but in LFG medium the bacterial population was 102 cells/ml.E. coli K12D31 which was incubared with cecropin D or B for uifercnt periods was obscrved in the electron microscope.
