STUDIES ON THE PRIMARY BIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTIC, AND THEIR PREDICATION OF FOUR SPECIES OF THE SUMAC GALL-APHIDS ON RHUS CHINENSIS
|
Abstract:
Investigation had been carried out from 1983 to 1986 at the altitude of 500-1,500M. in Mianzhu, Chengdu, Jiajiang, Fuling, Nanchuan countios, Sichuan province in china. Four gall-aphid species on Sumac, namely, Schlechtendalia chinensis (Bell), S.peitan Tsai et T;:ng, Nurudea (Nurudeopsis) shirail (Mats-umura) and TV. (N. ) rosea (Matsumura) had been studied. It dealt with the emergence and migrating period of spring migrants, the gall-causing period of the stem-mother and its host's phenology, and the number of offsprings and generations within the gall, with the observation and measurements a predictable equation had been established. It provided the scientific basis for artificial multiplication, the transporting, hanging period of the gall aphid and the suitable period of gall-picking at different altitudes.
