|
Abstract:
This paper deals with the volcanoes and lava geomorphology, characteristics and sources of loesses deposits, as well as lacustrine and lake-levels fluctuation in Ashikule Basin. The following conclusions are obtained: (1) There are at least 11 volcanic cones in the basin. It is not truthful that No. 1 Volc-anoe erupted in 1951. there is no volcanic mudflow deposits and/or fan in the basin. (2) Both Ashikule Lake and Wulukekule Lake are volcanic dammed lakes, but the first lake was dammed 18 000 yr. B.P., and the second lake was dammed 6 500 yr. B-P. (3) Loesses are the Holocene eolian deposits. They were from the gobi area of the basin.
