The Formation Mechanism of Bone-Shaped Boudinage: A Case Study of Tieshan, Hubei
|
Abstract:
Detailed studies of bone_shaped boudinage structure found in Tieshan of Daye, Hubei Province, were conducted with the purpose of finding out its for mation mechanism. Thirteen types of bone_shaped boudinage are distinguished in the light of the configuration of joining fission and boudin_layers and the sequence of filling veins in joining fission and the formation of boudins. Identifications of substances forming bone_shaped boudinage under polarizing microscope show that the competent layer has undergone at least two periods of deformation. Three types of formation mechanism are recognized: 1) the overlapping of two periods of compression perpendicular to the layer; 2) the overlapping of early compression perpendicular to the layer with late shear parallel to layer; 3) the overlapping of compression perpendicular to the layer with compression parallel to the layer.
