THE COMPUTER DIFFERENCE TECHNICS IN THE RESEARCH OF MINERAL IR SPECTROSCOPY
|
Abstract:
SDIFF program oi the PE 983 IR spectrophotometer with a 3600 data station was used to obtain the difference of two spectra, and to get a better result than that by the ordinary method. The difference factor can be selected manually or automatically by a step of 0.0002.The character and technique of IR spectral differentiation are introduced by two examples from China. A pure spectrum of alunite has been obtained by the subtraction of chalcedony spectrum from a specimen from Tengchung area, Yunnan Province. By multiple spectrum subtraction, six minerals, kaoli-nite montmorillonite, illite, quartz, albite and a little mierocline were identified in a specimen collected from the hot-spring area in Yangying District, Tibet.
