A STUDY OF PYRITE IN OPHIOLITIC GOLD DEPOSITS IN THE TOLI, XINJIANG
|
Abstract:
The gold deposits in the Toli ophiolite can be divided into Anqi and Sor-tohay ore belts. They differ from the other types of gold deposits in that the pyrite in them is characterized by Co/Nil.Pyrite in the former ore belt is rich in As but poor in Co and Ni, while that in the latter one is rich in Co and Ni but poor in As. The unit cell parameters of pyrite in the Anqi ore belt are larger than those of pyrite in the Sartohay ore belt. There is little difference between Mossbauer parameters of pyrite from the two belt and Mossbauer effect shows that, like other gold deposits the element Au does not enter the lattice of the pyrite.
