China's Regional Differences in Mineral Resources Demands and Trend Analysis

Abstract:
This paper estimated the consumption of crude steel in various areas of China, calculated the consumption and per capita consumption of three kinds of mineral resources in Yangtze River delta, Zhujiang River delta, circum-Bohai Sea area, central and eastern and western China, and made a comparative analysis of the levels of consumption of mineral resources under the same GDP per capita in various areas of China and in developed countries, and investigated the energy, cement, crude steel consumption trends. The results show that the crude steel and cement consumption per capita in eastern China will soon reach the peak, while it will take 10 years for the energy consumption of central and western China to reach the peak. The crude steel and cement consumption will need 10 years and the energy consumption will need 15 years to reach the peak in western China.
