Recognition of Neoproterozoic Post-Orogenic Aluminous A-type Granite in Zhuji, Zhejiang Province
|
Abstract:
The Neoproterozoic bimodal intrusive association in Daolinshan area of Zhuji consists of moyite and diabase. Based on its field characteristics as well as dating and petrologic features, the authors hold that the granite belongs to the aluminous type. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the granite is of the typical post-orogenic A-type (A2 or PA type). The single zircon age is 816Ma, which suggests that the granite is the earliest A-type granite ever found in South China, and that the breakup of the Supercontinent Rodinia was strong at that time. In view of the main breakup period (825 Ma), it is considered that South China was the center of the breakup of Supercontinent Rodinia.
