The Basic Structure Classification and Genetic Analyses of Oil and Gas bearing Basins in Central Asia and Northwestern China
|
Abstract:
Bused on available informution, four genetic types of oil and gas bearing basins with different structural styles in central Asia and northwestern China have been figured out, i.e. 1) Pull apart or rift type of extension basins, which have multiple graben with gradually decreased subsiding from two sides to the center in the structural style. 2)Gravitational depression type of foreland basins with (normal or negative) reversing structural style. These basins are all semi grabens formed by gravitational depression of the upper crust resulting from the subduction of cratonic massif to the front margin of orogenic belt in the early stage and huppen to reverse due to the outward expansion and extension of the orogenic belt in the late stage. 3)Lithosphere block type of craton basins, which have overlapping structural style with obrious inheritance tectonically. These basins are all based on the rigid old craton, and their earlier structural pattern of lithosphere block have not been changed at all due to the lower geothermal gradient and slight tectonic uctivity in the later stage. 4)Structure stacking type of composite basins controlled by different direction of structural stress field in the different stages of basin development. As a result, whether their deformation or sediments have different tectonic direction and characters.
