Geological Environment Characteristics of Desertization in the Northern Part of China and Its Spatial Presentation
|
Abstract:
Through the study on the geological environment characteristics of desertization and spatial presentation (map compiling and setup of the information system), the main geological environment elements and its spatil distribution have been reflected in the paper so as to provide a scientific basis for studying the occurrence mechanism, developing trend of desertization and its harnessing countermeasures. The setup of spatial information system and map compiling mainly reflects the internal restrictive action of the evolution of the geological environment background conditions on the desertization as well as the effect of exploitation and utilization of groundwater on the desertization. The spatial information system consists of 8 logical map layer series, 16 types of map layers, more than one hundred types of map units. Based on these data, 5 achievement maps have been compiled. In addition, the information statistics of the desertizaton distribution status has been conducted, the total area of desertization in the northern part of China is up to km 2 accountion for % of the region, in which km 2 is the potential desertization area. The main distribution area should be the focus for the study and harnessing. Through the preliminary analysis, the main dynamic sensitive factors affecting the desertization have been determined and they can play a certain role in further geological investigation, monitoring and harnessing to the desertization.
