A Study of Chemical Composition and Spectra of Andalusite in South Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang
|
Abstract:
Chemical composition, microscopic characteristics, microscopic structure and crystal structure of andalusite from South Tianshan Mountains were systematically analyzed by such means as electron microprobe analysis, microscope observation,X-ray diffraction and infrared absorption spectra. The results show that the andalusite there has rich Al and contains small amounts of Fe,Mg,Na,Cr,Ti,Mn and Ca,that this mineral assumes porphyroblastic texture and sheet structure, that the unit cell parameters are a_0 0.782 nm,b_0 0.786 nm,and c_0 0.555 nm respectively, and that the characteristics of its infrared absorption spectra are in accordance with those of the ideal atlas.
