An Experimental Study of Microbial Removal of Nitrogen Pollutant from Groundwater
|
Abstract:
Nitrogen pollution has widely occurred in the groundwater of Shijiazhuang piedmont plain in front of the Taihang Mountain. The authors added microbial nitrogen_removing solvent and ethanol carbon to the seepage media in a sand flume resembling the prototype of seepage field. This means conducting an experimental study of microbial removal of nitrogen under different hydrodynamic conditions. The results show that the microbial nitrogen_removing technique could effectively eliminate nitrogen pollution in the groundwater adjacent to the injection well and in a certain distance of the lower reach in a certain period of time. This may provide a scientific basis for in situ treatment of nitrogen_polluted groundwater.
