A Study of Non-linear Stability of the Western-PacificSubtropical High
|
Abstract:
The restriction and influence on the systematical stability of the western Pacific subtropical high exerted by the factors of circulation pattern of East Asia subtropical region, monsoon rain belt in continental East Asia, monsoon trough rain belt in the South China Sea and western Pacific, and the non-linear interaction of disturbance flows are studied using a non-linear dynamic model including heat force and vortex dissipation. The energy criterion reflecting systematical stability is shown. Dynamical analysis and model atmosphere computation are also carried out based on the energy cirterion. The dynamic explanation of some weather facts is provided. The research results and views provide criteria of judging and predicting the shift of the western Pacific subtropical high.
