A Numerical Experiment of the Effect of Sea Surface Temperature Anomalies on Monthly Forecasting
|
Abstract:
In this paper, for the July 19, 1992 case the comparing numerical experiments with observed and climatological sea surface temperature (SST) has been performed by using the global spectral model The effects of the SST anomalies (SSTA) on the monthly forecasting have been investigated by the comparing circulation changes in general circulation model generated with observed and climatological SST The results of numerical experiments show that the impacts of the SSTA on the geopotential height, precipitation and temperature are obvious The response time of the atmospheric circulation to the SSTA forcing is about 10 days
