The Relationship between the Establishment of Ural Blocking Pattern and Its Downstream Asia Area and the Variation of High in December
|
Abstract:
The correlation analysis is applied to study the relationship between the ural blocking pattern in December and the circulation in its downstream area, and the variation of Mongolia high intensity. The possible impact of the unusual variation of polar thermal regime on the ural blocking pattern is also discussed. Finally, effect of the establishment of ural blocking pattern on the Eurasian temperature variation is analyzed. It is demonstrated that during the formation of the ural blocking the 500 hPa height in Mongolia decreases significantly and the surface Mongolia high is much stronger than general years, the deep trough in East Asia Locates more west and is slightly weaker than usual. It is also found that the heavier the ice condition in the I, III regions of north pole in summer, the more likely that the ural blocking will form in the next December. It is shown that when the ridge and its rear are over ural region and its west seperately, temperature will be higher in European controlled by warm wet flow coming from southwest, and temperature will be lower obviously in Asia especially in China controlled by dry cold flow coming from northwest.
