Numerical Analyses of the Effects of Size-Interval on Aerosol Extinction, Backscatter and the Ratio of Extinction to Backscatter

Abstract:
Using Junge spectrum approximation we simulated the measured particle size distribution with a multiple-channel-optoelectronic counter. On the basis of Mie theory of light scattering, we studied the effects of size-interval on aerosol extinction, backscatter and the ratio of extinction to backscatter. The results are useful to estimate the errors caused by the calculations by using measured particle size distribution and refractive index .
