A Numerical Study of Effects of the Indo-China Peninsula on the Establishment and Maintenance of the South China Sea Summer Monsoon

Abstract In the context of CCM3 developed by NCAR, a numerical study is conducted on the effects of the Indo-China Peninsula on the establishment and maintenance of the South China Sea summer monsoon. Results indicate that the Indo-China Peninsula acts as a critical role in the establishment and maintenance of the South China Sea summer monsoon. The mechanism of the effect on the South China Sea summer monsoon of the Indo-China Peninsula is also discussed.
