Fiber Optic Differential Pressure Sensor with Twin Borden Tubes
|
Abstract:
A fiber optic differential pressure sensor based on a pair of Borden tubes pressure transformer has been proposed and demonstrated. The twin Borden tubes have been welled in the anti-symmetry manner and working in the way of differential pressure. The fiber optic sensing designing experiments system was used in the sensor design. The intensity type reflective modulation technique is utilized and the variations caused by the fluctuation of light source and the reflectivity change of reflective surface is automatically compensated as a three-fiber reflective modulation technique was utilized in the sensor design. Theoretically, the fiber optic sensor input and output characteristics and the advantages of the anti-symmetry Borden tubes elastic device are analyzed. Experimentally, the linear input-output results are also given and discussed.
